About the test method

Unlike an antibody test, an antigen rapid test can directly detect the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. The test reacts to proteins of the virus. These antigens can be found in swabs of nose and pharyngeal cavity when the virus replicates there. The antigen rapid test is sensitive, especially in the initial phase of infection. It can also indicate a viral infection before symptoms appear.
